Jan/26/2012 AHL News:

AGE GROUP: I am considering reviving the A.H.L. under a new format - 4 teams of 40+ recreational hockey.  All four team managers must approved players under 40 (allowance for those less skilled, but wanting to play some recreational hockey).  Goalies can be of any age.

DRAFT TEAMS: I think I will work with four volunteers to draft teams from players that register.  No players may be "reserved" - open draft; however, team managers can name there own goalie(s).

TOURNAMENT: The Sportsman Cup will now be a 40+ event with teams visiting from the region to play the four AHL teams.  It will be in late November as usual.  I hope to get teams from Eabametoong, Sandy Lake, Treaty #3 region and beyond.

January 26, 2012 - The new Superior North Hockey League:

Jason Thompson, Commissioner for the SNHL, is doing a great job.  2011/2012 features 8 teams; including my Thunder Bay Moose.  Please visit www.snhl.org for more information and updates on the new league.

Also thanks to Paul Francis for assisting me with this year's roster of the Thunder Bay Moose.  The new-look Moose currently sit in 3rd and are legitimate contenders for the 2011/2012 championship.  GO MOOSE!.
